quote:: “Many waste their lives drawing lines. I live mine crossing them.” – anonymous

favorite guilty pleasure:: chocolate! every once in awhile I get that completely out of control craving. I believe – if you’re going to eat a piece of chocolate, go out and find the BEST piece of chocolate you can…..and enjoy!

favorite item in my closet:: every single pair of shoes I own…the taller the better. I definitely have a problem! whoever invented the stiletto heel….genius - combining fun & flirty dancing and rocking out those hottie heels….best combo ever :)

favorite color:: hmmm…..I wear black way too often but it’s my fav go to color! – dress it up, dress it down, easy to accessorize or match with a sassy pair of heels. But I’m a girly girl – I’ll never get over “Barbie doll hot pink”. My bright pink computer makes me smile :)

favorite style of dance:: being a dancer has taught me so much in my life and I have realized recently how much my perception of what dance actually is has grown for me. When I was training in classical ballet, dance was a very regimented goal – although still an outlet and passion. As I have become introduced to other styles of dance and watched hands-on how it can literally change someone’s life – I have realized that I don’t have a favorite style. Dance for each person should be exactly what they need it to be for themselves – and different styles absolutely bring out moods, emotions and fitness goals. In my choreography and classes I find myself pulling from so many different styles of dance – classical & contemporary ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, classic & contemporary burlesque and erotic dance. I could never pick a favorite and change the diversity and uniqueness this brings to my dancing.

I have danced for as long as I can remember. In 99% of my family’s home videos, you’ll catch me dancing in the background. I remember always loving to perform, putting together mini-productions with my sister for our friends, family, stuffed animals and dolls. It’s just in me.

Jen began her career in dance training in ballet - studying the Royal Ballet syllabus, Neo-classical ballet and the Vagoniva method, under the direction of the Allworthy’s, Mark and Melissa Roxey and Barbara Scavello. Jen was an original member of the Hunterdon County Youth Ballet/Roxey Ballet Company and performed with Ballet Classique, taking on lead rolls in the Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, La Baline Blanche, Pas de Quatre and many others. Through her dancing with these companies, she was also introduced to jazz, modern, hip hop and break dance. Being from New Jersey, Jen was exposed to studying with the New Jersey Ballet, Princeton Ballet, Boston Ballet, New York City Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre. In 2002, Jen moved to Boulder for college and was the first dancer to have a B.A. focus in ballet through the University of Colorado’s dance department. While training in Boulder, she trained and performed with Boulder Ballet and Lemon Spongecake Company. Wanting to experience a different direction with dance, she discovered pole fitness, erotic dance and burlesque at Flashdance in 2001. Since her introduction to these styles of dance, Jen has made it her priority to use her strong technical background in ballet and other forms of dance to share her love of dance and fitness with others.

place I want to travel to:: Back to Australia

favorite movie:: Training Day and Hot Chick, two totally different movies but ones I can watch over and over!

fav colors:: I love browns, yellows, and greens.  I'm stuck in the 70's ugly couch era!!

favorite meal:: Crab legs, Crab legs, Crab legs!

favorite quote:: "Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and its better to be absolutley ridiculous than absolutely boring."  Marilyn Monroe

I started off my dance training when I was eight years old.  I was a gymnast for about five years.  When I was eighteen I started taking belly dance classes, I did that for about two years before I was introduced to pole fitness/dancing. As soon as I took my first class I was addicted, it truly became my passion, it was alot of fun and was a great workout also.  I have been pole dancing for five years.

I wanted to start teaching when I watched what pole dancing did for women.  No matter where you are in life I watched women of all ages start to feel sexy within their own skin, I've seen their confidence and their self esteem grow so much.  It makes me as an instructor feel so wonderful when I see my student feel beautiful and confident.

favorite outdoor summer workout:: Swimming! Doesn't matter where, I just love to be in the water. I was born to be a water baby. The best thing about swimming is that it’s such a great workout - the water & temp outside help to burn off more cals without even noticing! no sweat, no pit stains…it’s beautiful.

Favorite item in my closet:: Less is better (unless its winter). Oh wait I still go out half clothed in the winter so never mind! I do have a cute jacket so don’t think you can find me walking around half naked downtown! The item in the closet that I love the most are bathing suits, leg warmers, and booty shorts. Not all at the same time though. I'm not that crazy.
Place I want to travel to:: The place I would really like to visit in the near future is Amsterdam. Mainly to see what the "red like district" is all about because my boyfriend and i are just kinky like that. :) I would really like to see all architecture. The buildings I’ve seen are so crazy looking, nothing like we have here in the US.

My fav quote:: So far I've given you some private info about who I am but the one thing that you will know when you meet me for the first time is that I'm pretty outgoing and for the most part always have been. Someone, actually someone very special to me gave me this quote, on a CD with a bunch of crazy songs, that I now love, and it reads “The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud!” ~ Coco Chanel. To this day I will never for get this quote and will teach my soon to be daughter to think for her self and to keep good friends like mine in her life.

I'm 22 years old and I have an addiction. I love to dance. I have been dancing for about 6 years now and have been teaching about a year ago. My dance training didn’t follow a classic path like a lot of other dancers – most of the technique I have came from my dancing with a group of girls on the street when I was in high school. When I graduated from high school, I decided I wasn't ready to go to college so I did a little traveling to Hawaii where I worked on a cruise ship for about a year. I saw the dancers that were on the ship and I knew that dancing was what I wanted to do. While in Hawaii, I fell in a volcano – yes you read that correctly - so I delayed my dreams of dancing for a little while. I took a gogo dancing job to make some money while I was recovering. It started a new chapter of my life. It has opened so many doors for me, introducing me into my hidden talent. As the years went by, I grew for the better in every aspect of my life because of this introduction of dance into my life. The dream which I once had with dance is now all becoming a reality before my eyes. Jen let me know that she saw a natural dance technique ability in me and invited me to teach for Tease-Studio, which I gladly accepted. I'm taking a small break from teaching right now, as I’m getting ready to welcome home my first-born in the summer of 2009!

favorite guilty pleasure?:: sleeping in…all day! (shhh…don’t tell anyone!) …oh and cleaning my entire plate…yes that does sometimes include licking it clean…

favorite colorado outdoor summer workout:: does sitting by the pool count?

I've always loved to dance and have danced on and off throughout my life. It was in 2005 that I discovered the pole and I haven't been the same since!
I have experience in classic burlesque, contemporary burlesque, hula hoop, gogo, ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, fabric and belly dance, but my specialty is in pole and sensual dance. Dance in combination with exploring your senuality will change your mind, body and soul in ways you couldn't imagine.
My promise to you is to give you challenging but fun workout while at the same time building your confidence and making you feel beautiful and sexy at the same time! Not to mention, how many times in your life do you get the chance to be sexy WHILE sweating...well, in public at least!

Robyn G aka Robbie G::

favorite color:: Color is the new black. Now that I have grown out of my serious “I am an artist phase” I can enjoy wearing colors.

favorite movie:: Waiting for Guffman. I love this movie and the tagline ---there’s a good reason some talent remains undiscovered. Chistopher Guest and his crew can do no wrong in my book.

favorite dance move:: My favorite dance move is Jazz Hands. Hands down, no wait…. hands up!

favorite store:: Whole Foods Market. Fresh food, fresh flowers and pleasant workers.

favorite quote:: The body says what words cannot—Martha Graham

I danced ballet, tap and jazz as a child and loved every minute of it. Currently I am involved in ballroom dancing and dance fitness. I am grateful to my dance teachers who have shared with me not just techniques, but a joy of dancing. The joy of dance is there for everyone. Pass it on.
